Funded Training Opportunities for 2012

Are you interested in undertaking a training course in 2012? Or perhaps you have a training need for your workplace?

Learning Options is currently preparing our funding proposals for 2012 under the Productivity Places Program (PPP). The program is a joint Commonwealth and ACT Government initiative that provides subsidised training opportunities to jobseekers and existing workers.

Our proposals include courses such as Diploma of Business, Diploma of Management, Advanced Diploma of Management, Project Management, Government, Training & Assessment courses and more.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION 

The Productivity Places Program PPP is part of the Australian Government’s Skilling Australia for the Future initiative.  Funding is provided in the ACT for delivery of nationally accredited qualifications in two categories: Jobseekers and Existing Workers.

Overview of Jobseeker Program 

·               Certificate III, III and IV qualifications from the list below
·               Individuals must be registered with a Job Services Australia (JSA) provider OR an income support recipient OR not currently working and intending to seek paid or self-employment on completion of the qualification (paperwork will require referral from JSA but we can approach a JSA to gain this commitment pre December)
·               No fees apply for students
·               Courses commence February 2012.
·               We must have your application by the end of November in order to make a submission to the ACT Government for your place.


Overview of Existing Workers Program (persons in employment) 

·             Certificate III, IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications from the list below
·             Student fee is $800 for Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualifications, or $400 for Certificate IV qualifications
·             Application round closes Tuesday 31 January 2012 with places notified Wednesday 29 February 2012.  ·             Courses commence March 2012.
·             We must have your application by the 17th of December in order to make a submission to the ACT Government for your place.

The qualifications Learning Options is able to provide are those that are identified on the National Priorities list or the ACT skills shortage lists.  These include:

Certificate IV in Project Management

Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
Diploma of Training & Assessment
Certificate III in Frontline Management
Certificate IV in Frontline Management
Certificate III in Business Administration
Certificate III in Business

Certificate IV in Business Administration
Diploma of Business
Diploma of Business Administration
Certificate IV in Small Business Management

Diploma of Building & Construction (Management)
Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Site Management)

Certificate IV in Mediation

Certificate IV in Government
Diploma of Government

Certificate IV in Career Development is not on the skills shortage lists but we have applied for and been awarded this qual previously. 

Important points to note:

 ·               This is a competitive tender process and Learning Options has a 100% track record in recent existing worker rounds on our applications being successful for funding.
·               Applications must be received by Learning Options in 2011 to be considered.
·               Employers and applicants are not able to lodge multiple applications with more than one training organisation.
