Our Vision
The vision of Learning Options is to inspire and empower individuals and organisations through learning and education. We have worked towards becoming a premier provider of customised vocational training and assessment solutions and we are dedicated to building long-term relationships with customers through quality training and support.
The education and training landscape in Australia is increasingly changing and we are becoming more than ever a knowledge based economy in a global economy. The role of tertiary education is critical in a knowledge economy. Combined with the changing nature of the workplace, and new ways of learning (internet and social media), tertiary institutions face new challenges in the 21st century.
Learning Options has a long term vision that includes the implementation of a strategy for sustainable provision of online course content combined with the use of Web 2.0 tools to enhance learner engagement and connectedness.
About Us
Commencing operations in 2002, Learning Options has experienced rapid growth whilst still maintaining our vision to remain a boutique training organisation.
In 2011, Learning Options celebrates our ninth birthday having commenced operations in 2002. We are owned and operated by Karen Nicholas, who is supported by a team of dedicated, professional trainers and assessors, and administrative staff.
During this time, we have assisted thousands of students in achieving full qualifications or statements of attainment.
We commenced operations in July 2002 as a home based business with only the Director and it remained that way for the first 2 years. In 2004 a full time course coordinator was engaged, the offices relocated to the Erindale Business Incubator, and relationships established with a number of key training professionals to provide training facilitation, many of whom are still with us today.
Our original contracts were largely with the NSW Police where we were engaged to develop and roll out training products to up to 16,000 officers across NSW. We were also developing our reputation for customised training and never turning a student away because of an inability to attend formal classroom studies delivered to an academic timetable. Our flexible delivery solutions, including online learning, started to take shape.
You can now find us in Manuka Canberra, where our office and training rooms have a beautiful view of the changing Canberra seasons, access to great coffee, and the welcoming feel that being in one of Canberra's oldest precincts affords us.
